Straight after leaving school in Abingdon, near Oxford, Roger joined the Royal Air Force as a Logistics Officer and served in several RAF locations in UK and overseas, Malta, Cyprus, Belize, Singapore and Saudi Arabia (twice) to name but a few.

He retired to Yeovil in 1992 to run two care homes for the elderly alongside meeting a lifelong interest in property management by establishing his own property management company in Yeovil.

After selling his business in 2008 he then became the Executive Officer of the Somerset Registered Care Providers Association representing care homes, nursing homes and domiciliary care agencies in the county.

Over time this developed into a broader interest when he and some colleagues established the Care Association Alliance to bring all the local associations together in order to present a stronger voice to Local and central Government.

In amongst this interesting and broad career Roger has developed a passion to find and promote ways to support the elderly by finding ways to reduce the need for admission to hospital and to promote the integration between health and social care so that the care pathway is cohesive, transparent and effective.
