Mr Nick Cawrse Bsc(Hons) MBBS MRCS FRCS (Plast) Consultant Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon
Mr Cawrse has been working as a Consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital since 2010 and is head of department for plant surgery, where he specialises in breast reconstruction, skin cancer (including sentinel node biopsy), head and neck reconstruction and microsurgery. He also provides additional clinics at Yeovil Hospital. Mr Cawrse was educated in Middlesex before training in medicine at Newcastle University. He qualified as a doctor in 1996 followed by anatomy tutor and emergency department work at the University of Bristol and Bristol Royal Infirmary respectively. Dr Andrew Broadley, Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Broadley trained in Cardiology in the United Kingdom and New Zealand (Cardiff, the South West, London and Auckland) and is a General Cardiologist who sees patients with all heart conditions. He specialises in assessing the heart using ultrasound or “echo” scans, CT scans and MRI scans. This sub-specialisation is known as “non-invasive imaging”. He has a particular interest in treating heart conditions in the elderly. Mr Donaldson was appointed as an orthopaedic consultant with a subspecialty interest in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in January 2014. Mr Hall specialises in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery and arthroscopic/keyhole knee surgery of the knee (criteria dependent). Mr Hall graduated from Aberdeen University with subsequent postgraduate Orthopaedic training in the South West Peninsula region. Mr Sam Heaton (MSc, FRCS Tr. and Orth) is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hip and knee replacement primary and revision surgery. John McFarlane was appointed as a hand, wrist and general trauma surgeon at Yeovil Hospital in 2019.
After qualifying with a graduate entry Medicine degree from St Georges Hospital in London in 2006 John’s post graduate orthopaedic training was on the prestigious Oswestry training programme. In 2018 he then completed a year of sub-specialty hand and wrist Fellowship training at the QE and Royal Orthopaedic Hospitals in Birmingham. During this time he was trained in all aspects of hand and wrist elective and trauma surgery including wrist arthroscopy, small joint replacements and treatment modalities for dupuytrens disease including Xiapex injections.
He has presented both nationally and internationally on hand surgery, in particular the use of Xiapex for which he has published in the European Journal of Hand Surgery
Prior to his medical training he completed a degree in Biology and a Masters in Chemical Research.

I am a Consultant Clinical Radiologist who graduated from Birmingham University MBChB in 1997. After passing my membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000 I progressed to training in Radiology in Edinburgh, passing my Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2005 prior to commencing as a Consultant in 2007. I am a full member of the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists. I have worked with Yeovil Town Football Club since 2007 and was involved with the provision of imaging at both the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012. I have been appointed an Honorary Clinical Tutor at the University of Bristol and have helped train local staff, army medical staff and national sports physicians in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound.

My medical training was at Oxford and Imperial College London at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. MRCP was awarded in 2001. Radiology training was obtained from the region of Wessex, primarily based in Southampton and the FRCR was awarded in 2007. I have been working in Yeovil District Hospital since 2010, my interests lie in cross-sectional imaging and musculoskeletal imaging. I have helped develop CT colonography and Cardiac CT services at Yeovil Hospital.
Dr Sharon Brown MBBS, BSc (hons,) MRCS, FRCR
I am a consultant clinical radiologist, graduating from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2003. I hold membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (2008) and then trained in radiology in the Peninsula region, gaining FRCR in 2010 and starting as a consultant in Yeovil District Hospital in 2013. In 2017 I became a clinical director of the department. I am a committee member of the British Society of Paediatric Radiologists and a member of the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists. I am a general radiologist with particular interests in paediatric, musculoskeletal and thoracic imaging. I report all modalities of imaging, including ultrasound, CT, MRI and radiographs.

Mr Stephen Andrews is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with an NHS practice at Dorset County Hospital covering the whole of West Dorset. He practices privately at the Kingston Wing at Yeovil Hospital.
Training and Appointment
Mr Andrews graduated from Guy’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1990. He then became House Surgeon to Lord Professor Ian McColl at Guy’s Hospital before going to Poole General Hospital in 1991. After general surgical training in the London region and Cheltenham, he joined the Institute of Urology training programme based at University College, London. He took up a Fellowship in uro-oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea. He was appointed as Consultant Urological Surgeon at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in October 2003. He performed the first keyhole removal of a kidney cancer in West Dorset in 2006.
Mr Andrews offers a rapid diagnostic pathway for elevated PSA (prostate specific antigen), haematuria (blood in urine) and urinary tract infections. He has rapid access to multiparametric prostate MRI scans followed by transperineal template biopsies of the prostate if required.
He specialises in the management of kidney, bladder, prostate and testis cancer. He performs all types of endoscopic surgery for bladder and prostate conditions as well as kidney stone disease.
He is the only surgeon locally to use the operating microscope to perform microsurgical reversal of vasectomy.

Mr Andrews is the lead consultant for urology research at Dorset County Hospital. He is Principal Investigator for several trials including kidney (SORCE) and bladder cancer (BOXIT). He is also involved in the genetics study for prostate cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
He has published articles in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and presented at International meetings in the USA (AUA) and Europe (EAU).

Mr Andrew Stewart, Consultant Vascular Surgeon
Mr Stewart has a special interest in minimally invasive varicose vein treatments (criteria dependent). He qualified as a doctor from Cambridge University in 1995. He has worked as a consultant vascular surgeon at Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital since 2007 and has worked as clinical lead of the vascular department from 2009-2015. Mr Stewart is the director of the abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening programme for Somerset and North Devon and also director of the higher surgical training programme for vascular surgery in the South West of England. He is a member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland and The Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Stewart offers the following procedures on the Kingston Wing (criteria dependent):
